Yorkshire Holiday 2015 - part 2 of 3

On the Wednesday of our holiday we headed to Newcastle. A bit of a drive, but it was well worth the miles. We went to:

Segedunum Roman Fort, Baths, and Museum - a fantastic place! :-) It's been a while since we were learning about the Romans in history, but with all that they've read about them, and then being able to see and touch things in real life, it was an amazing experience. :-) Similar with the Viking centre in my previous post - I was impressed with how much Abigail and Benjamin knew. The guy would ask them what various things were used for, and they seemed to know all the answers! :-) I think Abigail wondered why I was surprised, as after all, they've read a lot of books about the Vikings (and Romans!).

Building an arch! Segedunum was *fantastic*. Well worth the trip to Newcastle! So much hands on stuff for the kids to learn from.

While we were in Newcastle, we went to Ikea. But I'll leave those photos for post 3.
