Colds & Flu and Keeping Kids Occupied at Home

This is what happens when you're 7 months old and have a 2yo sister who likes to play dressing-up! ;-) She said she needed him to be all dressed up & pretty so she could marry him! lol Not sure his face looks very excited...
*This* is more like Elijah (as long as he's not full of a cold) - he has soooo many smiles to share with everyone. BUT if he's poorly or full of cold, he's just *miserable* and his smile vanishes. :-( Which happened for over a week recently, and required a course of antibiotics to sort out an infection in his chest.
But this is a bit more like what's been happening in our house for over 3 weeks now. We've had a really nasty flu/virus that just won't go away. One day you think you're starting to get better, and then the next day you're hit with it again. Aches, tiredness, chills, bit of fever, hacking cough, chest & sinus congestion, and turning into infection in several of us. The children seemed to be all better about 2 days ago, but Peter and I weren't quite well yet. But then Deborah & Elijah developed a cold/infection in their eye, and Clement woke up this morning with a croupy cough! But I hoped that Peter and I were finally improving, but then at lunchtime Peter came down with chills again and has taken himself off to bed! I have NEVER seen an illness like this - it just won't go away! And that's even with taking echinacea tablets, strong doses of Vitamin C, and Peter's even been eating cloves of raw garlic! I've not left the walls of my house for *three* whole weeks (except a quick visit to clinic for Elijah to be seen on the 3rd). So yeah, going a bit crazy! :-P But I guess it can't last *forever*, right? :-)

Watching a DVD when they were feeling slightly better, but not well enough to be up playing.
The last time we were out before getting so poorly - Peter took us for a drive up to John O'Groats. It was verrrry cold but lovely day out and nice views.

More crazy kids! ;-) I think Elijah is wondering what's up with them!

This was in December when Elijah was 6 months old - pleased with himself to be sitting up.

And this was last week - 7 months old and working on crawling. He certainly knows how to get from one place to another.

Benjamin and one of his Lego creations he designed (Sea Monster Island), which I think is quite impressive. Lego is what he does all day long - unless he's eating, doing lessons, or sleeping - and often Lego comes with him too! ;-)

Elijah enjoying his potatoes & broccoli - at least having fun with it, even if not much went inside!

In December Abigail found a brand new ice cream maker in a Blythswood shop for only £1.50 - she was very excited to find such a large item that she could buy with her own pocket money! It's just a simple kid's hand-crank one, but they've had lots of fun making ice cream - even though it's winter!

Deborah looking all grown up! She'd like to run the house for me too!

My darling Elijah - he really loves his mummy lots! ;-)
Back on the 1st of December we went to Urquhart Castle. Historic Scotland had a free entry weekend for St Andrew's Day, so we got tickets for there on that Saturday. A couple of families from our homeschool group went along too. It was a verrry cold day, but we all enjoyed it a lot.

We went to Fort George in the afternoon (this photo has gotten out of order in my blog - sorry!) It also had free entry, but we got there very late and it got dark very early, so we only had a quick run round and didn't see much. We hope to go again another time when we can see it properly!
